Leisure activities in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra)
Sports
Sanxenxo is home to some amazing beaches, all with a blue-flag rating. And our hotel happens to be very close to what we consider some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain: the closest is Playa de Canelas, and not much further is the Playa de Major or La Lanzada, a very popular choice for surfers, not to mention Playa de Rodas on the Cíes Islands. For adventurers, these beaches are a great place for kitesurfing, parascending and quad-biking.
It is up to you to decide how you want to combine the sun and the sea with your favourite sports activities, including golf, sailing, scuba diving and canoeing. There is plenty for the little ones to do too, such as go-karting, crazy golf, horse-riding and a trip to the O Grove Aquarium.

Foodie fiestas
Sampling some mouth-watering gastronomic delicacies is one of the great pleasures of visiting Galicia and a powerful allure for a lot of people who come here. With the sea on its doorstep, a unique variety of fruit and vegetables and fertile soils, Galicia yields some extraordinary raw materials which are masterfully combined with its rich culinary tradition. In Sanxenxo and its neighbouring district alone, you will find over a dozen festivities that revolve around food and drinks:
- Sea ray (Portonovo, Easter)
- Barrantes Wine (Ribadumia, first weekend in June)
- Callos or tripe (Meis, second weekend in July)
- Razor clams (A Illa de Arousa, second fortnight in July)
